So, That's What You Think!
So, That's What You Think!
How many times have you heard that expression? This painting depicts that feeling you have when someone tells you something that you were not expecting, or you find it hard to believe. The bright colors and bold composition could suggest a humorous or a somewhat angry reaction to the statement. The following poem by the artist, Susan Lackey, is the inspiration for this artwork.
So, that’s what you think! I can’t believe.
It really hurts, what you said to me.
“Oh no,” you say. You did not intend.
And you love me so dearly, you will amend.
Okay, I say, and I love you true.
Never say that again and we will start anew.
