Class Cost: $90 members, $100 for non-members, plus $10 (paid in class) for extra supplies
Location: ClearWater Arts Center & Studios – 223 Crowell Drive, NW, Concord, NC 28025. Enter through the double glass doors facing Kerr Street, called the Greenway Gallery, lower level.

Skill Level: Open to all levels of experience
Class: Ages 18 and up. Minimum class size: 5, maximum class size 15
Media: either acrylic or a watercolor/acrylic gauche combo, not both
This is a relaxed class with no rules, and anything goes. Pick a critter, any critter …dog, horse, turtle, giraffe, whatever. Let’s have some fun making up a krazy whimsical facial expressions and a story to match it. We will start by making some colorful backgrounds, then use a few reference photos to start building a “features library” to choose from and for mixing it up. You can create 1 or 2 adorable paintings, depending on how fast you paint, following Susan’s easy, step-by-step process. So, grab your paints and let’s get going. This class will fill up quickly so register now.
In this class you can paint with acrylic paint or a watercolor/acrylic gauche combo, not both. Susan will be painting in acrylics, and she is an experienced watercolor painter so she can advise you in both media. You will receive a full Supply List when you register. Abstractify Series
This class is part of a series of workshops about painting in an expressive and abstract manner using acrylic paint. Each workshop is standalone and not dependent on another. The skill levels and durations for each workshop may vary.
Susan has been painting for many years with a focus on acrylic and mixed media painting. She has won numerous awards in local, state and national juried exhibitions, and is a signature member of the Watercolor Society of NC. She is frequently called on to speak about her artwork. Susan currently teaches group workshops and private lessons.
