There is a quiet, peacefulness in this abstracted landscape at first light. There is also a playfulness that suggests people and forest animals will have fun when they come to this space in the woods. The following poem by the artist, Susan Lackey, is the inspiration for this artwork.
When the sun lights the sky early morning anew,
Bunnies yawn and stretch and birds sing for you.
The shadows begin their daily dance.
A wonderous time, take time to glance.
Nature’s colors are clean, crisp, bright and fresh.
You know, I like, this time of day the best.

The Remnants Collection
These paintings either the first ones or last ones of a variety of collections. Art Exhibitions tend to contain artwork from a single collection. When there are only a few paintings remaining in a collection, it’s difficult to show them with others. Sometimes a collection is started and after just a few paintings, the artist stops the series for various reasons. These also become difficult to show with others. Because these are some of the artist’s favorites, they are presented here in a patchwork collection of remnants.
